War Crimes Investigations Unit Researcher

Kostiantyn Nechyporenko is a researcher with the War Crimes Investigations Unit of the Kyiv Independent. He has previously worked as a producer/newsroom coordinator at Hromadske and as an analyst at Suspilne. The events of the large-scale invasion and the need to document the crimes of the Russian military and its proxies fueled Kostiantyn's interest in OSINT. Kostiantyn got his Master's degree in sociology at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

The collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria following a lightning rebel offensive in November has shaken Assad-ally Russia’s near-decade of influence in the country.
